Yeah, this was a good one

Tremendously violent, but if you aren't offended by that then it's worth watching. The action never slows down, but the movie gives you enough exposition in each scene that it never feels disjointed.

In other news, "Stray Cat Rock: Sex Hunter" was a bit of a dog. In retrospect I should have gone with my heart instead of my head, and gotten that Criterion Samurai three-pack.

I much prefer a movie like

I much prefer a movie like "Stray Cat Rock: Sex Hunter"! I still need to see the rest of that series.

Shaping a Young Mind

Yes, these were the types of films my dad was taking me to go see when I was a young Kid. When I wanted to go see a cartoon, he took me to see American Pop, and he also felt that it was important that I saw Shogun's Assassin.

The Manga of Lone Wolf and Cub is my favorite comic of all and the films are great as well but too bad they never really finished it on the cinema screen.

Cheers!

Final Conflict

American Pop was kind of interesting but sort of lost its way near the end and I think went on too long.

I know the original 70's series of films just kind of peters out without the death duel between Ogami and Yagyu that it needed, but hey, at least it happens in the 1993 standalone Lone Wolf & Cub: The Final Conflict. Very different in tone with a much more sympathetic and sensitive Ogami and it has the final duel to the death with the evil Yagyu shadow boss we were waiting for...

ZUEY!!!!! And to a lesser extent Jer and Mike

Finally listened to the podcast on the way into town. This movie sounds cool just from the review and the screen shots just back it up. If only all revenge stories could be this good. I've ordered it from Amazon. I'll let you know how I get on.

As for the hosts this week, Jer was his usual self. Mike was bit snipey but then that's cool. Cats like to rump-wave you, Mike? Umm, I'd say there's doctors for that kinda thing but Wikipedia doesn't have a listing for that fetish.

Finally, speaking of fetish, there's Zuey. I've already spoken with Jeremy about you girl. You are truly a gem. Abet a weird twisted one. However creepy fan mail you requested and creepy fam mail you shall receive. I won't say where or when but I will come for you. And then the game will begin.

As always cool show and can't wait to hear the next prerecorded one.

Hi! Are you My Fan?!

Hi! Are you My Fan?! Excellent, excellent. Wonderful good taste there my good fellow, brauf brauf. Huff. Yes. I'm gonna try to provide ample material to obsess over, IE character art of our personages, cute comics, and possibly in the future FLASH VIDEOS! As I make my livelihood on artistic endeavors this is nothing to scoff at and will undoubtably be AWESOME.

Unless of course I am stricken completely useless with my totally characteristic laziness. Hum hum hum!

Well, basically what I'm saying is that I'm going to kill you.

She tasks me! She tasks me!

Go away with you. I've enough to obsess about without the mental image of you sitting in front of Photoshop, plotting my doom.

That's next week.

As this is my first foray into stalking, I expect an orderly affair which will preclude the need for a violent bloodbath.

Good show!

Sorry about the long comment this was meant to appease your email desires but I couldn't get the address to work. You should have a link on the site.

Hey guys that was a mighty good podcast you did. It's becoming habit for me to listen to one of your shows and by the time it's over you've won me over to wanting to see what you're talking about (even for some of the stuff you hate). This is what a good review can do and you guys do it well. What was quite spectacular about this particular podcast was how well you balanced having 3 people in the room. Each of you had your turn to speak (for the most part) and you all seemed to have good input. Well enough kissing your no doubt perfect asses (I'm sure scientists use them to calibrate their instruments). Keep up the good work.

P.S. I've downloaded your ad and even though I'm sure you have more listeners than I do I'll play it on my podcast which you can check out here: http://www.granateseed.com/futilepodcast

P.P.S. I'll try to write something more acerbic and stalkerish next time.

Feedback

Hey Ian, appreciate the feedback! I'm glad you're enjoying the show and I'm really excited that we are influencing people to watch new things that we enjoy and expanding people's horizons!

The balance of people has been something we've been struggling with, but it sounds like we are getting to some kind of equilibrium, huh? Cool, glad it's working for you.

I'll check out your podcast and give you some feedback when I get a chance and be sure to send Zuey something creepy. She will love it. Hahahaha.

Also, we don't have a direct link to the email address here on the website because that will make it easy for spammers to harvest the email and send us more spam that we already get.

If you access the podcast via www.destroyallpodcastsdx.com or by clicking on the podcast link on the top left of CollectionDX in the Navigation section, you will see the intro text includes the email address written out.
