Destroy All Podcasts DX Episode 276 - San Jose Super Toy Comic & Collectible Show Mar. 9-10 '13
Hosts: Jeremy, Phill
This is about irritating loudspeaker announcements, unknown middle-aged women, and sticky fingers.
Click [HERE] to turn up the heat even though it's already way too hot.
Note: I totally said Gigatron when I meant Gigastorm. Sorry, Transformers nerds.
Pics after the cut.
Sorry I stupidly didn't take pics at the actual show, but here's the robots I got!

Early Bird is the way to go for sure.
Also, I met Jeremy last time I think in december there. I was the asian guy with glasses and a shaved head.
It's definitely kind of gross, but I usually have fun there. It was nice meeting you before! I definitely remember. Nice haul. The Voltes V gashapon sounds cool. Did you take any pics?
The announcer wasn't so much robotic as completely unenthusiastic. "I guess we have some people here, or something. I think one of them was, like, in Aliens? Or Lost in Space? Something like that, whatever, come get an autograph or something if you want."

The thing about this time around was that it was a lot more *commercial*--like, there were a lot more people who looked like this was a business, rather than a swap meet or a flea market. The guy next to our booth, in particular, had a business going to Target/Wal-Mart/TRU and buying out their clearance section, then selling it cheap at shows like this one.

I don't think any of the Seeker-jet variations were stuff that NASA actually did, although NASA did do research work with modified F-15 aircraft (which show up in, of all things, "Patlabor 2".)

Nicole thought that little Nickick thing was absolutely hilarious, especially when I jiggled it around and made the legs flop back and forth.

What's under K-Mart is the local-brand department stores, that have like four or five mall stores in the suburbs around a large city but don't have a national presence.

Talking about weird old 1980s cartoons, remember Robotix? (neither does anyone else! haw!)
I remember seeing exactly one episode of that cartoon, in which a group of good guys got trapped in a cave. One guy says "Looks like a booby trap!" Another replies "And we're the boobies!"
Hmm. Actually looking at pictures, it seems like Ramjet looks more like the F-16 XL wings on an F-15 fuselage. Weird.

And NASA definitely tested the F-16 XL http://www.dfrc.nasa.gov/gallery/photo/F-16XL1/index.html Looks like they also tested some F-15 variants: http://www.dfrc.nasa.gov/gallery/photo/index.html
There's only one episode of Robotix! It was a pilot and was never picked up for a show! We should podcast on it. It's a "movie".
