I don't know why this was so popular in the states, except perhaps that when people were buying these episodes one at a time, they had more of a chance to rewatch and absorb the storylines between releases, whereas watching it all at once makes it very hard to figure out what's going on.
First of all, I had a very hard time following the story. Not that I didn't know who the good guys and the bad guys were, but I didn't really get WHAT was going on and what GENOM's motivations were. And apparently Mason becomes Largo at some point, but he also dies, but later they explain that he downloaded his brain into a boomer...or something. There's stuff about the anime in which Kenichi is involved that I always have difficulty following. Seriously, I had to watch it twice, and I was able to pick up a bit more on the second viewing, but that also kind of annoyed me that I had to do that.
The only thing that was perfectly clear to me was Priss' sexuality. Crystal clear. There's no debate that she is far less than straight.
By the way, are you guys ever going to do Bubblegum Crash?

Daryl Surat needs to stop denying that Priss likes her comfortable shoes.
