Video and a pic after the cut.

The driver is so hot.

This is an interview with my favorite character from the movie, '80s Robot!

'80s Robot knows how to surf the Internet.

And here's the trailer.

My sentiments regarding this

My sentiments regarding this movie were pretty much in line with you guys. I went in to the theater not really expecting it to be bad, but certainly prepared for it. Thankfully, the film pretty much won me over by the end of the first scene, and didn't let me down at any point later. Glad to see the Muppets get back to form.

But whichever one of you (I think it was Heidi) started to mention Muppet Christmas Carol when you were talking about the Muppet movies that were bad, I swear I will find you and beat you with a shoe.

Wakka Wakka

Dave Goelz is an original Muppeteer from the Muppet Show, and is the voice of Gonzo, Beauregard, and Dr. Bunson Honeydew in this movie. He's the only performer that's been in every Muppet movie.

The voice behind Kermit is Steve Whitmire, who is also the original voice of Rizzo the Rat. I agree with Jeremy that he doesn't sound like Jim Henson, but nobody sounds like Jim Henson. I've had a really hard time watching Muppets in the last twenty years because of that. I guess he does a passable Kermit.

I'm still digesting the movie. It was very funny, but I don't know if this is the sort of movie I'm going to enjoy watching on repeat viewings. All the jokes were so over the top that I don't know if they're going to be as funny watching them on BluRay as it was sitting in a theater with the contagious laughter of thirty people.

I agree with Jeremy that 80s Robot is the best new Muppet from the film. I wouldn't be upset if I never saw Walter again.

The movie in which Fozzie and Kermit were twins was the second movie, The Great Muppet Caper. The best part of that gag was the picture of their father, which was a green Fozzie with Kermit eyes. Grossest Muppet ever.

And finally, Disney didn't actually buy the Muppets until 2004. Disney is not to be blamed for Muppets In Space. In fact, they don't even own that film. It's still the property of Tri Star, as is Muppets Take Manhattan.

Disney didn't buy the Muppets

Disney didn't buy the Muppets until 2004, but they did co-produce Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island, and I think that's what the confusion is stemming from.

Well I wake up frontin' like I ain't hung over

readin' the paper, discover that the Germans have annexed Grover?
Kermie? Piggie? And all the rest!
There ain't a single domestically-controlled Muppet left.

I drink Tab cola!

I suppose one could say this film is the symbolic passing the torch to the next generation of muppeteers the way it's presented (I wouldn't blame Frank Oz too).

I see a theater near me still has it in one of it's rooms (though I miss the days of the reduce-priced cinemas or "dollar theaters" as my mom would call 'em), I may have to go see this if I have time.

Wow

Are the names of the cast and crew really that unpronounceable? These aren't crazy foreign names! I know Jason Segel isn't exactly the biggest movie star, but I would easily would have bet that most people could pronounce his last name. It either sounds like Steven Segal, or more like seagull.

Walter being a Muppet reminds me of the baby in South Park who looks more like Terrance and Phillip than the other characters in South Park.

Umm, wow. Not only is Nick Carter not President Carter, but he's not gay, either. I think that's the wrong boy band member you're thinking of.

I totally think that Sarah Silverman is funny, and I don't think she's just a gimmick she's doing. That's what people can see it as, but she's funny just in general, just besides that taboo humor. I thought the Sarah Silverman show on Comedy Central was pretty good.

I am also absolutely in favor of comedians saying whatever they want on stage; Tracy Morgan, stupid Michael Richards and all that. Stand-up comedy is a great representation of free speech: comedians are free to say crap, and you are free to not support them. I think people make this assumption that comedy can be pg-13, but not r, or r but not nc-17. I want it all. I don't want comedians to not be able to speak harsh truths about humanity.
