Episode 199 in a Four-Issue Limited Series

I have nine of the first ten issues. I have issues 1 and 2 as a single digest (it uses the cover of issue 2), and I have issues 4 thru 10, one of which has the awesome cover of Shockwave, announcing that all the Transformers are dead. That's one of my favorite comic covers ever. I also have issue 20, which is the one about Skids, I think. Also, Plight Of The Bumblebee and a couple others after that. I officially gave up when Optimus Prime died in a video game. To this day, i have never read the third issue with Spider-Man.

I think the early comics are the best and most iconic. And apparently some people at IDW feel exactly the same way.

I really loved the later

I really loved the later issues like around #60 something to the end at #80. They were crazy violent and I really loved the facial expressions on the TFs that made them more human. But because I was introduced to the comic near its end, I THOUGHT that the story told tied right into the cartoon.

The G2 comic was neat too. VERY 90's comic style with its excessiveness (they thought the TFs didn't have enough guns, so they gave them MORE and ammo belts).

I can't get into the modern TF comics though.

'90s comics

1990s, and early 2000s. I remember the "revival" of TF comics, where it seemed like they forgot how to draw perspective and it always looked like the robots were about to fall over.

It's like, "look guys, I understand the whole extreme-distortion thing to give an impression of great size, but that means the FEET are big and the HEAD is small, not the other way around!"

Yeah, that was mostly due to

Yeah, that was mostly due to Pat Lee. It was like he was trying to imitate the style of the Studio Ox's TF art but forgot what made those cool. Plus, he was just a plain jerkass for taking the money that was owed to the other artists when Dreamwave comics fell and instead bought himself a new car.

I don't get the comment about

I don't get the comment about fans not being fit to write the stuff they admire. Sure, you don't want an incompetent writer or someone obsessed with inserting fan service in every scene, but aren't most great creators big fans of the medium they work in?

Do you just want indifferent work-for-hire folks to create your fiction? Jeremy, clarify.
