So I guess if "Blade Runner" were "Neuromancer", this movie would be "Hardwired"; it carries forward the thematic and setting elements rather than the philosophical ones, and winds up looking a bit dated, simply because we've had those elements as part of the sci-fi genre for twenty-some years now and we're all used to them.
edit: Interesting how Summer Glau's character in "Firefly" wound up looking like Angelina Jolie does in that poster. Wouldn't it be ironic if this movie wound up having this huge impact we didn't know about? Like, fifty years from now, film-school students will be watching "Cyborg 2" and writing essays on how it's this big important movie that was totally famous and everyone saw it...
