And nothing about Kunzite and Zoisite

I think most guys have watched more of this show than they'd like to admit. I've never watched anything other than the dub, but I'm pretty sure I've seen nearly all of the Queen Beryl saga and then rapidly lost interest as the show continued on without her.

My favorite aspect of that first season was the unambiguously gay relationship of Zoisite and Kunzite (Malachite) and how it was quietly brushed under the carpet for the US version by switching Zoisite from male to female. Amazingly, this never occurred to me until after the show was off the air, even though it's blatantly obvious in retrospect. Some of the episodes are a lot funnier now with that revelation, particularly the one where Zoicite disguises himself as Sailor Moon.

Gay

If the homosexuality and censorship was discussed between them it would certainly have been a two hour podcast. They are very pretty and gay AND there are a lot of other characters that follow by this too. Ex. Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus actually talking about about sex with each other. Throughout the US censorship versions they were considered to be cousins despite the heavy flirting so it wasn't so risque (as if insest were less so).

Cloverway

That's true. This would have been a two-parter if they had gotten into the homosexuality in the series.

The editing in Sailor Moon S was very strange, specifically because of what they left IN. Even with the lesbian subtext taken out of the dialogue, it was plainly obvious what was going on.DiC would just take chunks of animation out. Cloverway left a lot of stuff in, and it was hilarious watching them try to skirt around the whole gay issue.

Takeshi's Castle

In addition to the "MXC" redub, there's a for-serious remake here in the USA called "Wipeout".
