Oh, Razzle Dazzle!

How does Zuey know so much about the He-Man lore and yet not remember the names? Madam Razz is the name of that annoying witch woman you were talking about. The one with the walking broomstick who is totally NOT from The Sorcerer's Apprentice. And the evil female wizard that worked for Hordak was Shadow Weaver. And the voice actress who played both those characters died of brain cancer in the mid-90s.

D'awwww... Way to bring that down, Neil.

I suppose this is where I should blandly point out that the reason (at least initially) for all of the furry briefs and casual bondage wear in this cartoon was that the toy line was initially meant to be Conan the Barbarian. After that, I can only attribute the clothing to the fetishists at both Mattel and Filmation. Not that I minded. I remember being just the right age to really enjoy Adora's standard costume when She-Ra originally aired.

Sometimes, I think the hot chicks were the incentive to get kids to watch back in the day, because it certainly wasn't the animation. Even as a kid, I would say, "Didn't we see that same piece of animation already twenty times in this same episode?".

The smaller child in this episode always confused me, in ways that the turkey kid from Jurassic Park confuses me. I know the name is Carol Ann, but I swear I still found the gender of this child very confusing. She's drawn like a boy.

By far the weirdest thing in this cartoon is Skeletor's face-turn at the end. Pardon the spoiler on a 25-year-old cartoon, but he saves the children from Horde Prime. And then he, Skeletor himself, cuts the roast beast. That's the end of the original He-Man/She-Ra time line.

Ninja Turtle Drink

Hello, I'm a long time listener, first time caller. I can't believe no one sent in a Ninja Turtle Drink recipe yet. I thought it was a great idea. anyway holiday season and all, here's my entry:

a little Midori
a lot of Sochu - like Jinro...or just find a bottle with clear liquid inside with asian characters on it.
a little Creme de Menthe
a drop of vermouth
Tiny drink umbrella
olive with a little katana sword in it

maybe those ingredients are too....demanding to some, so I'll also suggest a "cheap n easy"

just double-fist a bottle of mountain dew and a bottle of everclear.
have fun!
