8 comments postedI forgot how high Akira's voice in this dub was. I ebayed my VHS of this long ago expecting to upgrade to DVD but never did.
I guess I'll leave comments here since I carely go to the Fast Karate forum anymore.
Yeah, the guy who does Akira's dub voice is ridiculous. Well, they're ALL ridiculous. The DVD is just a dump of the VHS master anyway, I'm sure, but who really cares? It's a goofy, ridiculous anime. It's hardly art, but really fun, especially dubbed.
If you wanna post comments here, that's cool. What should we podcast on next?
I keep trying to download this podcast (I really want to here you guys talk about Devilman as I am sure it will be amusing) but the download keeps crapping out. I might get 12 mb of the file at most.
Hmm. I just downloaded it without a problem. I've forwarded your message onto Josh... maybe he can do something about it. Have you tried again?
Josh suggested you try right clicking on the link and saving the file to your desktop rather than trying to listen on the site. It is likely your connection is a bit unreliable, or there may be firewall issues that are cancelling the download. You may also try downloading it through iTunes instead of through the website and see if that helps.
Also, which browser are you using to download it?
Good review. I love Devilman, hands down my favourite of Go Nagai's works. Shame it tends to get overlooked in the remake department compared to Mazinger and Cutey Honey, the last thing we got was that really crappy live-action movie in 2004 (that'd be good material for you guys to rip on, it was released here by Media Blasters).
Maybe they should do a new team up! They could have Mazinkaiser versus Devilman or something!
