It appeared on ABC-TV a long time ago.
This was the only Muppet special in which Kermit & his nephew Robin met The Fraggles.
I also remembered the Muppets as babies in this one, but thankfully not in animated form like the cartoon show. That doesn't mean it's a bad thing because I loved Muppet Babies a lot. It was just nice to see them in live-action once more.

It's a shame that the Muppet Babies scene is edited due to song rights. I really wish I could see this special again as it originally aired. There are parts to this show that have been missing since the first time it aired.
Well, we were watching a version cobbled together from the DVD release and Dylan's family's original '80s broadcast recording so we did see the Muppet Babies flashback scene.
Ah, well that's good then.
If you mention it on the show, I wasn't able to listen. I'm still having issues getting your show to download successfully. I'm gonna try again later.
Hey Mr. Neil,
It's nice to see you again. It's been a long while since I've seen your informative inputs b/c I miss them a lot. Thanks for the info on the Muppet Babies scene in that show. I never knew that scene was edited out due to license issues.
Well anyway, thanks from the heart dude & Happy New Year.

I think I downloaded a version someone put up someplace that was like an "extended version" that included all the things cut out after the ABC airings and all that. it's great what fans can do when they put their mind to it. Similarly, there's one out there "Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas" that was done a similar fashion since the current DVD release takes out a few short sequences as well as Kermit's appearance in the special.
...This podcast seemed more about animal sex than muppets. :(
A) Have you listened to this podcast before?
B) Actually, this podcast was more about how the monster from Alien reproduces.
A) Oh yes. I've been listening to it fairly consistently for several months now.
B) I did catch that in fact, but there was a good amount of animal sex discussion as well. Not to say it wasn't a good laugh, but I guess I felt this podcast was more off-topic than usual.
It always confuses me when people say this week after week after week. If something we watch has meat, we analyze it and discuss that meat. If it doesn't have any, we joke about it and read too much into it. This is how the podcast works.
The digressions are perhaps the main reason I listen to this show every week. I love when you guys go off onto tangents.
