From Reviewing Toys to Making Them
I’ve been working with Josh on CollectionDX for eight years now. I published my first review for CollectionDX on August 6th, 2005. I’ve had the opportunity over those eight years to help grow the brand of CollectionDX, from handling advertising to juggling editorial duties, and a little bit of everything else along the way. It’s been an adventure, and I have had a lot of cool stuff happen thanks to the silly toy reviews and articles I have written for the site over the years.
I now have the opportunity to take my professional experience in retail and customer service and these eight years of toy industry experience and fuse them together into a real honest to goodness day job in the toy industry! Beginning this month I have joined the team over at Mecha Workshop as Community Manager. This is the fantastic new toy company behind Armarauders: The Last Battalion line and I couldn't be more excited to be joining their team.
I will be wearing a few hats for Mecha Workshop as we ramp up to release but overall I am joining the team to help with the domestic distribution, marketing of the toyline, maintaining a presence at conventions, help with social media, and just help them in general to grow a kick-ass fan base for what I believe is a truly kick-ass toy-line in any way I can.
What does this mean for my role at CollectionDX? Not much, over the last few months I have already given up more and more of my behind the scenes responsibilities of the site to focus on the weekly show and that will continue. It may mean that the show will fall into a “when we can do it” schedule, however, as my availability may get scarce, especially during con season. For the foreseeable future nothing should change with the show.
So that is all I can say for now. If you have ever enjoyed anything I have been involved with then please, follow @Armarauders on Twitter and and like us on Facebook to keep up on all the latest news.
