I agree with most of these.

I agree with most of these. D-Arts Megaman X should be on someone's list. Somewhere. *Shameless self-promotion*

VB-6 Konig Monster

No love for the VB-6 Konig Monster? I figured that was a lock after the review JoshB gave it back in February. Ah well, I still drool over the great pictures of it. May never own one, but I can dream.

The Monster was released in

The Monster was released in 2010, if I recall correctly, although we didn't get it until 2011.

Wow. I was surprise to see

Wow. I was surprise to see that Atom also really dug the Metal Composite Gundam, since he is also not a Gundam fan. Being a fairly big fan of the UC Gundam universe, I should really look into getting one, which would make it the my most expensive toy purchase.

Judging just by the few toys

Judging just by the few toys from 2011 that I own, I'd say that the "Toy of the year" is the GE-54 1/60 VF-25F Renewal. While not as refined (and expensive) as a Yamato Valkyrie, this piece is beautiful, very close to the lineart and comes with nice accessories. Until Yamato gets the Macross Frontier license, some several years from now, this will probably be the best representation of the VF-25.

Also, I agree with everything said about the S.I.C KT Kamen Rider Agito and Machine Tornador. WhenI look at them, I can't help but smile and admire the little details.

One toy that had everything to be a great release but ended as a big letdown was the Composite Ver.Ka Cybuster. It's one of my favorite designs and displays very nicely, but everything else seems just half-assed, what a shame.

Rodimus is popular because he

Rodimus is popular because he defeats the Decepitcons with self-deprecating humor and sarcasm.

It's really neat to see

It's really neat to see everyone's thoughts. The variety is really nice. I'd love to get the Gokin Big O. The car coming out of the foot feature alone makes it worth it. But I'm saving my money and looking to 2012 and the gatchaman releases.

TOTY

I like all the choices listed so far..
But this year Id go in a different direction and for me, Value, would have to be a big factor in making something Toy Of The Year.
I agree that the Big O is a reference piece, Like Josh said..Its the Bugatti of Chogokin. But to me a cost no object piece is in a class by itself. I don't think the Veyron could ever be car of the year. At 2 Million bucks it dam should be the king of cars but money alone cant make it a winner for me...And that's coming from someone who puts Big O in my top 3 ALL TIME favorite robots.
So that said... My list of 2 would be...

2. Composite Gundam The Origin...

Like Atom, I was soooooo Blown away with the details, quality and design. Not only is this my #2 choice but its the best Gundam toy ever made...IMHO. I can't say enough about it. The only reason it's not my 1st pick is the cost. Although not Max Gokin priced, it's still north of $150 and for that Id say its still a great value but not insane value.

1. Super Robot Chogokin Dai-Guard.
.
Ok, not even in my top 10 favorite designs but to Me TOTY cant be based on the love of the character alone so...
This thing represents everything in a toy I could ever want.
1. Classic retro super Robot design ( meaning chunky with fat forearms and lower legs ) CHECK
2. Lots O Diecast CHECK
3. Perfect Size CHECK
4. Flawlwss Paint Aps CHECK
5. Over the top Articulation CHECK
6. Clean, Sharp Build quality CHECK
7 Lots and I mean Lots of accessories CHECK
8. $$$$$$ PRICE$$$$$ .. This toy was 50 Bucks. Ive paid more in Tax or shipping on toys that were not as nice as this thing. When I add it all up. This toy for the money raises the bar on everything I buy because when I open that new revoltech or something for More money, I usually pick this guy up and say..." Wow is this thing a steal"
So this is the piece that has changed my expectations across the board on all toy buying and for that it gets my Number 1 vote for TOTY.
Great choices to all......
Thanks CDX...Glad to be here for my 1st post :)

Three out of Two

Forgot that I sent Josh the amended "Oh yeah my #3..." so ignore that "two" for my choices. but yeah, slow year for this builder or at least slow on building 2011 issued. Sorry it feels like I tease with items that aren't reviewed here (YET), but thats just how it goes. Another year and another well rounded list of giants from the greatest!

Just to add to the

Just to add to the discussion, I feel it's relevant that I point out that I have the Metal Composite Origin Gundam shipping to me right now as well. I expect big things.

You will be simply amazed...

You will be simply amazed... It will be hard to put it down. The only downside is trying to choose a pose and what armaments to hold.

Kind of surprised Wreck gar

Kind of surprised Wreck gar was the most popular Transformer on anyones list. But He does pull off the 86' movie look well.

my favorite toy of the year was Transformers Reveal the Shield Lugnut.

Liked Karaoke Ninja's logic on the high price of modern die cast figures making vintage die cast more appealing.
