Takayuki Takeya Studio Visit

Meet Takayuki Takeya. He lives in Koenji, just outside of Tokyo, within walking distance to one of the cooler vintage Japanese toy stores. This man is responsible for the designs behind the Super Imaginative Chogokin or S.I.C. series.

This workshop is where all of those toys are sculpted, and I got the rare honor to visit him there recently. He graciously allowed me to take as many pictures as I wanted. He shares this workshop space with a few other artists that he collaborates with, so not all things shown in the images below are his.

To view a great interview in English, visit Bandai's Tamashii site at http://english.tamashii.jp/s_ske/s_ske01.php

Lots of images below, but worth the wait. As a bonus, right click on any image and select "view image" to view an even larger version!

I must have OCD, I thought the pictures were cool. But kept thinking the place needs a major dusting...

Well, I keep seeing doubles of about every picture. Was that intentional or accidental?
