Inquisitor Lightsaber

I've had my doubts about Rebels but that toy lightsaber looks like a lot of fun! Splits in two for dual-wielding? Awesome! Also, I have to get that ROTJ 3.75 Luke and Vader. Great coverage!

I'm really glad to see the

I'm really glad to see the old style 5 point of articulation figures continuing, as well as the cheap 12" figures. And I dig the army men style figures as well. There seems to be something of a resurgence of interest in that kind of figure lately.

Question from a long time

Question from a long time reader, very infrequent poster. I don't like G.I. Joe a whole lot, but I bought a generic trooper toy from the Retaliation line. I loved it. Crazy articulated. I get frustrated with 3.75 action figures with 5 points of articulation. I find I want the toys to be able to approximate poses I want them to do and when it's just hips, shoulders and neck I don't like it. I'm 32 years old, so a lot of the things I grew up with were basic 3.75 action figures. My question is why do you think there is a resurgence of interest in toys with simpler 5-points of articulation? Is it nostalgia? Is it kid (I hate to say that) vs. collector aimed toys? Or is it an appreciation of simplicity that escapes me? I hope I don't come off as a dick, I am legitimately curious. Thanks!

You're certainly not alone in

You're certainly not alone in that sentiment. I know many Star Wars collectors also seem to have disdain for the 5POA figures, which seems odd to me. As if they aren't respecting their own heritage or something. LOL. For me personally, it's simply had a lot to do with the economy. I just can't afford the vintage or even modern Japanese toys like I used to so I've been turning my attention back to the US properties I had as a kid, among them vintage SW figures. So while I'm sure the newer figures are aimed to appeal to kids (and the parents buying their toys), it's a happy coincidence I think that it coincides with a shift in my own buying habits. Then in general, anything retro seems to be heating up again so we're seeing stuff like the ReAction figures and a resurgence in army men-type stuff.
