I don't know whose idea it was to advertise a robot section at toy fair and populate it with this stuff, but I want to have a word with them. Robots should have firing fists, not servo motors.
But robotics seem to be kind of a buzz word at toy fair, and there was some neat stuff on display. one of which was Robotis.
Robotis is a Korean robotics company who manufactures robotics kits for educational and classroom use. They also have a hobby version of the kit that is more focused on building a playable model than a controllable robot.
As cool as these look, it appears that a high level of experiences with robotics and/or programming is required to do the advanced kits.

Robots that play soccer AND brawl??
Have the Scots heard about this?!
Kinda reminds me of the early days of LEGO Mindstorms- an actual programmable robot that could be assembled any way you want. (I got the Mindstorms 1.5 ver., BTW... which is currently disassembled and in the box.)
