The whole designer toy thing

The whole designer toy thing imploded years ago. The designer toy scene was really cool back around 2005 when it was fun and innovative, but now it's mostly dumb ugly blobs of plastic. How many neon painted glow in the dark, one eyed pieces of crap do we need? Apparently a lot. It seems like these collectors lost their sense of determining whether something actually looks cool or not. Now it's just fools throwing away BIG money for uninspired dog toys that don't even have squeakers.

You aren't kidding about the

You aren't kidding about the crowds!

I generally prefer small, regional cons when I get the rare urge to congregate. When I started attending PAX in 2011, I experienced a touch of claustrophobia at the crowds. But oh, man, they are NOTHING compared to NYCC. There is no way that con meets fire codes. I grew up in NYC, so I'm not a meek guy in crowds. There is no pushing your way through the NYCC crowd. It took me 40 minutes to walk across half the floor last year (something that would take, at most, 10 minutes at another con). When I had the great fortune to be included with the press for the Avengers meet and greet, I thought there was going to be violence. The crowd was totally out of control, trying to force it's way up onstage.

There was tons of cool stuff to see. But I'll definitely think twice before going again! LOL

I can't believe that dealer

I can't believe that dealer wanted 90 bucks for an incomplete thunder megazord! What a rip off!
