This week we are joined by Phil Reed of Battlegrip.com fame live from SDCC 2013! We do the usual news and reviews then dive into a SDCC themed Blind Boxed segment.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to extreme heat in Massachusetts we did have some overheating issues during the recording of this show. Adam was able to salvage the show but the frame rate is a bit jerky and audio levels are a bit out of whack. It was this or no show at all this week.

1 comment postedWell this sucks, I can't understand how Toynami beat Bandai to get the Voltron license?!?!?!? Wow yet another incredibly unexplainable dumb move from WEP/CM. So instead of a brand new design from Bandai in SOC form, we get a 8 year old toy with cheap LED's shoved in it's head, a toy which is based on a 30+ year old toy with a few tweaks. We could have had a chance to FINALLY get a screen accurate Voltron/Golion where in combined mode you wouldn't see the individual lion legs, a screen accurate face, a Blazing sword that's painted and actually looks like the tv one and so on. The Toynami Voltron was decent when it was initially released if not a little dated and was quite a bit unrefined compared to the SOC's at the time. Eight years later, this toy is a antique and any who say this is a great toy and a perfect substitute for a SOC is either lying, blind, or being nice to certain people. Toynami should stick to making Street Fighter themed Hello Kitty and vinyl toys and leave high-end diecast toys which need actually engineering and development to companies like Bandai.
