IPMS Ontario Chapter was host to their annual Minicon Model Contest and Expo in Ontario, California. It was a great turnout with about 250 model kits entered into the contest.
Best of show was this High Gloss hot rod, which was the best gloss paint job I've ever seen in my life.
The dealers brought out some great kits to sell. One dealer was even selling 1980's Anime related model kits and toys that was a nice revisit to my childhood as I owned at one time nearly everything on the table! Pony Lives!
Here a sample of some of the kits entered into the contest:
Although I didn't win any awards this time around, it was a great turnout for everyone involved and I'm looking forward to Minicon 10!

The rally car covered in dirt is my favorite one.
Not to be rude, and I'm sure I couldn't do as good a job on it,but did the Millenium Falcon's cokpit light up like that in the movie? It's like he wanted to make it look cooler, but really it's just distracting.
Honestly the dirt car that was one of my favorites of the show. It had some construction issues but it sure had an awesome vibe about it!
I'm sure the Falcon did light up but not to that extent, the same builder did a y-wing as well and I liked that one a bit better.
I so want to build that Falcon but it's about a $200 with shipping most likely around $50 it would just set me back to much, so I'll stick with the MPC one for now!

Thanks! We had a lot of cars this year as a model car club brought about 60 model kits, it was great with a lot of talent! Heck, they won best of show!
There was a lot of Sci Fi this year but most of the entries had been photographed for the IPMS Silicon Valley event which I also reviewed here on CDX.
Cheers!

Great review leo! I had really good time. Sorry I missed you at Macross Con I had to work over time both days! Looks like it was a blast. Oh how I miss Phony Toy-go-round. I hope to have a store front some day like that.
Take care,
