I'm not sure if I'm

I'm not sure if I'm interested in a robot story without beautiful blue-haired men, but the robot is pretty cool.

Too soon to say

Investing in a toy line is an expensive proposition, so I'll have to follow this one a while and see where my interests go.

That IS a sweet robot, though, and it's nice to get an Armored Core/Battletech vibe again after years spent on a steady diet of Japanese Super Robots and Gundams. A palette cleanser now and then helps you appreciate your old standbyes all the more.

Dream Pod Nine called

They want their Jovian Chronicles art back.

(Just kidding--I like the design! I'm looking forward to getting one.)

While I agree with you, you

While I agree with you, you can probably count on one hand the number of people that would remember Jovian Chronicles, so I think they're safe. :P

Even if the line doesn't make

Even if the line doesn't make it to retail, its a helluva proof-of-concept for it's development team to show to larger, established companies.

Nice looking stuff.

I've always liked Don's robot

I've always liked Don's robot designs, it's nice to see him move from TFs to piloted mecha. I dig this a lot so far, curious to see what the price point will be. And that centaur mech with the treads on the legs in the comic excerpt is really something to behold. :D

Ohhh that looks expensive.

Ohhh that looks expensive. Still, looks like something I would want to spend money on; at least one of them. Friggin' love what they've got going so far. Consider my interest piqued.

Don's take on Armaraders

I'm a lurker on deviantART.com [where I pursue much different topics than I do on CDX, mind you], and I'm subscribed to Don Fig's own page there-

http://donfig.deviantart.com/

Anyways, I just got a notice today from his public Joournal.

"Hi everyone! finally, I can reveal my new project. this is Mechaworkshop's premier toyline, Armarauders. [link]
Basically, Valent and I just wanted to create a toyline that reminds us of the many things we liked growing up but also bring in something new and unique to the table. as we're coming up with the designs, we also started talking about a storyline for it and characters and the next thing you know, we drafted a 6 issue comic , a shitload of characters and designs and a huge mythology.

I managed to write the first 2 issues, but then work with the interior artwork and designs starts to pile on me, so we figured we'd get someone else to help us with the writing. so Dan Taylor's gonna take over the writing based on the storyline Valent and I came up with and Enrico Galli and his colors making me look good all throughout.

The first toy will be what we called the Bellerophon unit. your basic, multi-purpose, Grunt-type. that is customizable with add-on capabilities, from armors, additional weapons as well as flight and support drones. it's also the mech of the main character!

our next one will either be the Centaur or the badguys, I dunno yet, stay tuned:)"

...

I should mention that I've PM'd him a few times, and he told me once that he does indeed follow CDX!

"where I pursue much

"where I pursue much different topics than I do on CDX, mind you"

Hey now, this is a family friendly site.

"Grunt-type"

There's that word again~

Which is exactly why I didn't

Which is exactly why I didn't list what I pursue or my account name there. If people want to know, they will have to seek it out on their own.
