As seen at this past Saturday’s kick-off event at the Miramar Shopping Centre, it was a fan and media frenzy with one of Hong Kong’s top male vocalist, Leo Ku, and the world’s #1 mouse, Mickey taking stage along with Bloc28 Mad Mickey designer Les Schettkoe, mall executives and the MINDstyle family.

The kick-off celebration event yesterday at the Miramar Shopping Centre featured one of Hong Kong’s top male singers, Leo Ku to introduce Bloc28 Mad Mickey to fans and shoppers. The Hong Kong Cantopop/Mandopop singer and actor is the first singer to have won all four newcomer gold awards from Hong Kong’s radio/television stations early in his career and has remained one of the top selling male recording artists.

Finally, our Bloc28 Mad Mickey is installed at the Miramar Shopping Centre in Hong Kong for this Saturday’s kick-off event. At nearly 15 feet tall, the figure provides a perfect photo opportunity for Mickey fans and holiday shoppers. If you’re in Hong Kong or plan to visit, the installation along with our MINDstyle pop-up runs through January 2, 2011.

As part of our continued expansion in Asia, here’s a first look at the bigger than lifesize Bloc28 Mad Mickey designed by Les Schettkoe. Nearly 5 meters tall (about 15 feet), the massive figure is part of the Miramar Shopping Centre holiday celebration installation in Hong Kong.

Designer Con is taking place on Saturday, November 20th in Pasadena, CA. In its 5th year, the event is definitely of one of the biggest toy, art and designer apparel conventions on the west coast for fans and collectors! At D-Con you will find toys, art, clothing, artists and exclusive collectibles.

There are artist exhibitions… then there are an artist experiences. As one of the original vinyl toy pioneers, Michael has set the standard time and time again, but this time, he may have out-done himself with one of the largest solo exhibitions. Wow… it’s an amazing installation, a must see for anyone in Hong Kong or visiting. Crazy X’mas and Kindergardener are open to the public at Times Square and further validates Lau’s ability and creative vision in translating characters and telling his story. The massive exhibition showcasing the Gardeners will run till January 2nd in the atrium with Kindergardener open until December 26th on the street level.

Christmas Around The World opens this Saturday, November 20th at the Miramar Shopping Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong and runs until January 2, 2011. The installation will feature super-sized figures of some of our favorite ATC figures including a 15 FT Bloc28 Mad Mickey that was designed by Les Schettkoe who will join the festivities along with Korean toymaker, CoolRain showcasing his highly anticipated NBA collector figures.
