Some delve into the past. paying large sums of money for a toy or two either from their childhood or maybe one that just catches their eye. These toys are usually hard to find and expensive or difficult to come by. However, if you are a Japanese toy collector, fan or just have a casual interest in the past, you will want to check out "Japanese Toys: From Kokeshi to Kaiju" a new exhibit in, of all places, Terminal 3 of the San Francisco International Airport. The exhibit runs through April 2014 and contains so many vintage and rare items that it is like walking down a path to an amazing display of nostalgia and the crazy, imaginative world of Japan. Anticipation for Sean Linkenback’s new poster-art book, The Art of Japanese Monsters had already been building in advance of its scheduled May 14th arrival date and now Linkenback has announced a deluxe version that is sure to whet the appetite of collectors: The Art of Japanese Monsters Leatherbound Deluxe Edition • Limited to 100 numbered copies • Each copy will be hand-bound in heirloom-quality leather • 20 Additional pages of posters (a whopping 250 pages total!) • Exclusive print from Hugo-Award winning artist Bob Eggleton • Each print will be autographed by Akira Takarada and Haruo Nakajima Due to the logistics of the actors' signing, the Leatherbound Deluxe Edition will not be able to ship until the first week of June. CJ Entertainment has provided production notes and images from their viral outbreak thriller FLU (감기, Gamgi, 2013), debuting on DVD in North America March 18th. A human trafficker is infected with an unknown virus and dies in a Bundang hospital, covered in red rashes and coughing up blood. In less than 24 hours since the death of the first patient, similar cases of disease-related deaths are reported all over Bundang. The medics despair over the super virus that has no known cure, but they soon find hope when they hear of a sole survivor who may have developed antibodies against this ruthless viral mutation. As medical professionals rush to find the sole individual with the potential key for a cure, fatalities rise and soon the government has no choice but to quarantine the city. Based on the 2012 novel Sanbunnoichi by Hanta Kinoshita, the film is the third feature directed by Hiroshi Shinagawa following his smash hits DROP (ドロップ, Doropu, 2009) and SLAPSTICK BROTHERS (漫才ギャング, Manzai Gyangu, 2011). Anime producer Lucky Penny Entertainment is pleased to announce that the AH MY BUDDHA Collection will be available on June 3, 2014. The DVD set will feature the complete 26-episode anime series, in a single DVD keepcase, with English audio, Japanese audio and English subtitles. On-disc extras will include clean openings and closings, promotional videos and the U.S. trailer. AH MY BUDDHA, also known in Japan as AMAENAIDE YO!! (あまえないでよっ!!), is based upon the manga by Toshinori Sogabe, which was originally serialized in Comic Gum anthology magazine and later collected into 7 volumes. Sixteen-year-old Ikkou Satonaka has raging hormones that make every other boy's look simply weak in comparison. When he gets turned on, he's literally turned into a super-powerful Buddhist monk capable of vanquishing the most evil of spirits! Ikkou's parents send him to the Saienji Temple to train to become a proper monk under the watchful eye of his grandmother. One of his first challenges is to learn to control his lusty desires -- but that's easier said than done when he's surrounded by a bevy of beautiful nun trainees who keep losing their clothes! This weekend, Los Angeles-based film distribution company ELEVEN ARTS and VIZ Media will be working together to bring TIGER & BUNNY: THE RISING (劇場版 タイガー&バニー -The Rising-, Gekijoo-ban Taigaa Ando Banii -The Rising-, 2014), the newest installment in the TIGER & BUNNY series to theaters in major cities throughout the U.S. As a special treat for Los Angeles moviegoers, Little Tokyo's own Anime Jungle will be opening shop at the Downtown Independent movie house, selling TIGER & BUNNY goods imported directly from Japan. In addition to these items, which will only be available at the Los Angeles screenings, Anime Jungle will have a wide array of other TIGER & BUNNY items from among their stock available for purchase. The shop will open for customers from one hour before show time during the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday screenings. Once all of the merchandise for the weekend has been sold, Anime Jungle's special distribution of the items at the Los Angeles screenings will cease.
